Accessibility in Whitby
National Access Awareness Week
National Access Awareness Week (May 28-June 3) is intended to raise public awareness of the barriers, to encourage communities to assess the level of accessibility in their jurisdiction, and to plan for the removal of barriers.
"Access" means more than just removing physical barriers; it means changes in attitudes and support that allows all people with visible or invisible disabilities to be part of community life.

Accessible Businesses - Planat (Rick Hansen Foundation)
Planat celebrates and encourages accessibility by providing detailed information that helps you navigate the world.
"Nearly everyone is affected, whether it is directly or indirectly, by accessibility issues at some point in their lives. Join Planat today and help us achieve our goal of documenting the accessibility of venues and spaces around the world. Every time you rate or review a venue from your own unique perspective you are contributing to this goal. Together we can encourage everyone to think about how our world can be accessible and inclusive to all of its inhabitants."
