June is Recreation and Parks Month. Challenge yourself, join in the Town's many free fitness activities, and enjoy our beautiful parks and trails. You'll experience the benefits of leading a healthy and active lifestyle and have some fun at the same time.
Programs and resources in support of Recreation & Parks Month include:
- Free Fitness Classes - Take steps to a healthier lifestyle this June! The Whitby Civic Recreation Complex and the Brooklin Community Centre and Library are offering a variety of free fitness classes for the month of June. Try a new class, challenge yourself and have fun reaching your fitness goals.
- Healthy Lifestyle Bingo - Be the first to complete our fitness bingo. The bingo card includes activities and choices for leading a healthy, active lifestyle. Try a new fitness activity, create a low fat recipe or do 30 minutes of cardio. Participants who complete the bingo card by June 30, 2016 receive one complimentary health club day pass. Completed bingo cards can be dropped off or mailed by June 30, 2016 to the Whitby Civic Recreation Complex, 555 Rossland Road East, Whitby.
- Kid's Passport - Children are encouraged to be active throughout June by completing at least six activities described in our Kid's Passport. Parents or friends initial each activity. Children who complete the passport by June 30, 2016 and mail it in will be given a free swim pass. Completed passports can be dropped off or mailed by June 30, 2016 to either:
- Parks, Trails and Outdoor Facilities - Get outdoors, enjoy a walk and experience Whitby's many parks, walking trails, gazebos, picnic areas and waterfront.
