Roles and responsibilities

Our responsibilities include:

• Providing input into downtown development strategies
• Providing input about the Whitby Official Plan, Brooklin Secondary Plan and Community Improvement Plan
• Communicating between various downtown stakeholders

We're also responsible for implementing downtown development initiatives, including:

• Streetscape improvement
• Façade upgrades
• Parking, transportation and pedestrian circulation
• Downtown entrance and public open space treatment
• Marketing strategies
• Development and redevelopment opportunities
• Financial incentives and grants
• Programs and events
• Heritage initiatives
