Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area
Formed in 2017, the Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area (BIA) is committed to promoting Whitby’s Historic Downtown as a walkable destination.
Through its advocacy and promotion work, the BIA is working to establish Downtown Whitby as an attractive and competitive business environment, bringing high quality stores, restaurants and more into the Downtown and attracting shoppers every day of the year.
The BIA envisions a Downtown Whitby that serves as the focal point for the Town’s commercial, cultural, institutional, civic and social life.
Funded through an annual municipal tax levy, the BIA is governed by a Board of Management. The board is composed of 8 volunteer members and 1 member of Whitby Town Council.
