Due to Canada Day, Town Hall will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2. The McKinney Centre, Luther Vipond Memorial Arena, Whitby Civic Recreation Complex, Iroquois Park Sports Centre (including Anne Ottenbrite Pool) will also be closed Monday, July 1. The Town would like to remind residents that the first instalment of the 2019 Final Tax Billing is due on Monday, June 24, 2019. This billing applies to all residential, farmland, pipeline and managed forest properties. The final tax bills were mailed to property owners the last week of May 2019. The Town of Whitby’s splash pads are now open for the 2019 season. Splash pads are open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. Upgrades are being completed on the splash pad at Norista Park, which is expected to open mid-June. The new splash pad at Portage Park is expected to open later in the season. The Town of Whitby would like to advise residents and local businesses of the following upcoming road closure that will be in place during the “Brooklin Creates” event being held on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Roebuck Street will be closed between Baldwin Street and Cassells Road on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.There will be on-site signage to advise drivers of the road closure.
