Waterfront Survey

The waterfront is one of Whitby’s greatest assets. Through its Waterfront Parks and Open Space Master Plan, the Town of Whitby is committed to providing a variety of attractions for people of all ages and abilities along the waterfront, while balancing and protecting its significant natural, cultural and built features.

There are currently a mix of activities and uses permitted along the waterfront. For example, the land surrounding the Whitby Harbour includes the Port Whitby Marina and new condominium developments that are zoned for commercial uses like restaurants.

From August 13 to September 9, Forum Research is conducting an online survey on behalf of the Town to help inform the future vision for the waterfront.

The survey will ask residents about their opinions on the future vision for the stretch of waterfront between the start of Water Street (at the base of Brock Street South) and Thickson Road South specifically.

The results of this survey will help to ensure that the Town is making informed decisions, on behalf of its residents, for the waterfront’s long-term use.Map of the waterfront
