More than 2,700 people help shape new design
The Town of Whitby is making a number of important changes to its proposed design for the new Whitby Sports Complex being built on Baldwin Street South – changes are the direct result of feedback collected through one of the Town’s largest community engagements to date.
From March 12 to April 2, more than 2,700 people shared their feedback on three possible design concepts for the complex through an online survey and four virtual engagement sessions.

Did you know: a bronze statue of Sir William Stephenson has been installed in Celebration Square at the Whitby Public Library?
Award-winning Canadian sculptor Ruth Abernethy created the bronze statue to commemorate the life and legacy of Sir William Stephenson and tell the story of his ties to Whitby. Additional statue busts of Sir William Stephenson were also installed at Intrepid Park and Sir William Stephenson Public School.

Marina awarded diamond elite certification
The Town of Whitby’s Port Whitby Marina has been recognized by Boating Ontario as a leader in environmental practices.
The marina achieved Diamond Elite Certification under Ontario's Clean Marine Eco-Rating Program: an environmental program for Ontario-based marinas and marine businesses.
