Today, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced COVID-19 relief funding for Ontario municipalities, including the Town of Whitby. In follow up to this announcement, Mayor Don Mitchell has issued the following statement:

With Stage 3, the Town’s playgrounds and splash pads are now open. Play safe by keeping 2 metres (or 6 feet) apart from those outside your household or social circle, and bring and use your own hand sanitizer frequently.

Celebrating our local community champions
On, Monday, July 20, the Ontario government announced that municipalities within the Durham Region Public Health Unit – including the Town of Whitby – can move into Stage 3 to re-open our local economy. The change is effective as of Friday, July 24, at 12:01 a.m.

The Town of Whitby and Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area (BIA) are working together to provide new ways to support the safe reopening of area businesses.
