According to the Flood Watch update issued by the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) today, Tuesday, April 28, a strong low-pressure system is forecast to move through Whitby early Wednesday (April 29) through Thursday (April 30), bringing heavy rain, wind, and risks of thunderstorms. The heavy rain has the potential to result in increased flows and higher than normal water levels in local creeks and streams.
Residents are reminded to stay a safe distance from local waterways...

The Town of Whitby has opened a temporary truck driver rest stop at Iroquois Park Sports Centre (500 Victoria Street West) in an effort to support drivers who have been impacted by the closure of facilities due to COVID-19.
