Supporting Local Organizations’ Response to COVID-19

The Town of Whitby is committed to supporting local organizations in their response to the COVID-19 public health crisis. Since March, the Town has awarded more than $50,000 in funding to groups delivering vital services and programming to the community’s most vulnerable.

Whitby Begins Spring Cleaning and Repair Work

Property maintenance businesses permitted to operate as of May 4

Spring has arrived. This means that the Town of Whitby and residents are beginning spring cleaning, as well as property repair and maintenance work.

Property Tax Payment Support

The Town of Whitby continues to offer tax relief measures to help residents and local businesses during these unprecedented times.

As a reminder, these measures include:

• a two-month grace period (or 60-day tax deferral) on the April tax instalment with no penalty or interest charged for May or June;
• the first instalment of the final billing originally scheduled for June will be delayed to July; and,
• flexibility for those paying property taxes through pre-authorized payments.
