We are excited to share that, after undergoing extensive renovations, the Civic Recreation Complex (CRC) pool will reopen for all registered and drop-in swimming programs on October 30. The renovated CRC changerooms and multi-purpose room will also reopen that day.
We are currently completing the final stages of construction, including the health and safety checks required to reopen. If this process is completed more quickly than expected and we can open any earlier, we will let you know!

The 2023 Whitby Mayor’s Gala, which took place on Sept. 9, raised $140,000 which will be used to support organizations and initiatives that make a difference in the community.
The gala is one of two annual fundraisers for the Mayor’s Community Development Fund.
The fund provides support to local groups and initiatives in the community through lead grants of up to $25,000 and community grants of up to $5,000.

Last night I attended a public engagement session on 1635 Dundas, hosted by the Region of Durham.
The session was attended by many residents from the neighborhood who shared their feedback and concerns.
I am deeply concerned by the behaviour of some attendees, which included yelling, physical intimidation, and offensive comments about people experiencing homelessness and members of council.
This is a very emotional issue and there will be differing viewpoints.
