Depending on your project, you may be required to get a road permit before you begin. Review the road permits issued by the Town of Whitby.
A Road Occupancy Permit (Work in Right-of-Way Permit) is needed for any work that causes traffic disruptions, such as blocking lanes with materials, or equipment, or modifying roadways, sidewalks, curbs, or for an upcoming event, filming shoot and other areas within the right-of-way by cutting, excavation, boring, filling, adding, or altering.
Please complete the online Road Occupancy Permit (Work in Right-of-Way Permit) Application. If this is your first time applying for a Road Occupancy Permit (Work in Right-of-Way Permit), you will need to create an account.
It will take up to five business days to process your permit application. Once you receive approval, you need to have the permit with you at all times during the road closure.
