Compliance letters are issued by the Town of Whitby to confirm the current status of a property. These letters are often requested by lawyers, in advance of a property being transferred to a new owner.

With regards to information requested beyond what is provided in this letter, further due diligence is required. Please be advised that this information is not provided through compliance letter requests. You may need to reach out to the specific TOW departments or alternate agencies responsible for this information.
For all matters related to easements, roads, frontage information, lot coverage, and setbacks please conduct a title search of the property and review the Town’s Zoning By-laws to determine compliance. The Town of Whitby does not provide compliance letters for these matters.
