The Town of Whitby's Official Plan sets policy directions for land use planning matters regarding long-term growth and development in the municipality.

In accordance with the Planning Act, our Official Plan includes the building blocks for land use planning regulations and approvals, such as:

• Zoning By-laws
• Site Plan Control
• Plans of subdivision
• Land Division (Consent; Severance)

The Downtown Whitby Secondary Plan has recently been updated through Official Plan Amendment (OPA) 126.  Please contact the Planning Department regarding any other Official Plan Amendments that are not included in the February 2024 office consolidation.
