An Urban Design Plan (UDP) is a guideline that provides clear design direction for proposed developments within a study area in the Town of Whitby. Study areas may include one or several properties, and represent single or multiple ownerships.

When do I need an UDP?

Please contact us to discuss the requirements for a UDP before you book a pre-consultation or submit a planning application.

The preparation of a UDP may be required for some major development, re-development or re-zoning applications as outlined in the Official Plan.

Exemptions from this requirement are based on the scope and complexity of the proposal.
