Meet Frank & Fred [5734B&C]
These handsome boys came to us from the Province from a neglect case they were investigating. These boys were terrified upon arrival and often escaped their cage trying to climb the rafters in the shelter - even with padlocks! We have had them for quite some time now - and what a difference. They are both lovers, looking for all of the pets and head butts, Frank and Fred just cant get enough! We would like to place them in a home together with no other cats - somewhere where they can finally be someones main attention and given a life they so deserve. Meet Beethoven [5698A]
Beethoven is a 2 year old St.Bernard that was found as a stray and never claimed. Sitting at 115lbs, Beethoven is quite the strong pup. He doesn't quite understand being on a leash and was likely use to roaming a rural property. We would like to find Beethoven another property or livestock herd to manage. He seems to be okay with dogs his size. Although he can be shy at first, Beethoven quickly warms up and especially loves being spoken to like a baby. He has a big bark and often warns us when someone is pulling into the shelter, he would be a great addition to any farm! Beethoven has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Meet Tom & Jerry [5894A&B]
Tom and Jerry are 4 year old brothers that were surrendered due to their previous owners health. She was devasted to surrender these boys, as they are super loving and great companions. Tom and Jerry are big cats, weighing around 25 lbs. They enjoy watching out the window of their home and spend their days cuddled up waiting for love! Meet Mama [5182A]
Mama is a 2 year old cat that was found with her kittens earlier this year. She has been a surrogate mom to 9 additional kittens during her stay with us and without her help those kittens would not have had such an amazing start to their lives! We would love to place this sweet girl in a quiet home where she can now soak up all of the attention she deserves! Although she can by shy with strangers, Mama does warm up - especially with some convincing if you have a churu treat in hand! Mama has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Meet Bugsy [5725C]
Bugsy is a 7 month old kitten that was picked up as a feral stray at a barn. After some time with us, she is now feeling quite comfortable. Bugsy will head butt looking for scratches and lovin'. She does not mind other cats and seems to be okay with dogs. Bugsy would prefer a quieter home where she can continue to come out of her shell - at her own pace! Pumpkin is a 10 month old kitten that was taken from an abuse case in the hopes of finding an amazing forever home. Pumpkin was very shy on arrival, curled up in a ball for weeks. With some patience, churus and TLC Pumpkin has turned a leaf and is coming around! She enjoys being pet and will even drool now looking for more! Sabrina and Buffy are 8 month old kittens that were found as strays and never claimed. They were extremely dirty and full of fleas upon arrival. With some baths and TLC they are now ready to find their forever homes! They rarely ever cuddle with one another and often choose to interact with other cats in the shelter, so we would like to place them in homes with other feline friends! Meet Willie [5804]
Willie is a 6 year old domestic cat that was surrendered in medical distress. Thankfully Team Chelsea took this boy on right away so that he could receive treatment! Willie was blocked and in a lot of pain. Now that he is feeling better, he is on his quest to find his forever family! Willie is extremely loving, demands head butts and chin scratches all day long. He will require to be fed a urinary diet for the remainder of his life to prevent another blockage. Willie has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Mitzy is a 3 year old domestic cat that was brought in after her owner sadly passed away. She seems very timid in the shelter, and has had quite the change in environment. She enjoys being pet and we are slowly winning her over with daily CHURUs! Mitzy would do best in a quieter home where she can take her time in coming around. Boo and Chip are 3.5 year old dwarf bunnies that were surrendered by their previous loving home. These buns are very friendly and have been pre loved - looking for another lap to cuddle up to! Their favorite veggie is brussel sprouts but they wont turn down a snack - ever! They would do great as a pair, or separate as long as they are getting attention from their new family! This handsome 3 year old tom cat was picked up in a commercial plaza and never claimed. He is a big boy, with lots of love to give. He came in infested with fleas, earmites and other parasites that caused his coat to be thin and scabby. After treatment, this pretty boy is feeling better and slowly growing his hair back. Sookie is a 2 year old declawed bengal that is looking for a quite place to call home. She was surrendered by her previous home because she was not using her litterbox properly. We are looking for a foster to adopt situation as she was great with using her litterbox at the shelter and in her temporary foster home. Ideally, she will be placed into a quieter, condo or apartment space, with a solo owner. She is a great cat that loves attention so someone that is home often would help her feel the most confident. William is a very loving 3 year old cat that was surrendered by his previous owner who could no longer care for him. This sweet boy has dealt with a blockage and is currently on a prescription diet in the hopes of preventing that from happening again. William is all about the snuggles, and will lay on your lap for hours on end - content with just being there in the moment with you. He would be a great addition to any household. Celine is an 8 month old kitten that was found as a stray and never claimed. Celine was found infested with fleas and was quite the itchy girl! She was treated and bathed constantly, and her coat is finally coming in soft and full of life! Celine is an active kitten always looking for another playmate to get into trouble with. She does settle and will cuddle but if there is a toy in sight, count her out! Celine has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Location and hours
The Animal Services Centre is located 4680 Thickson Rd. N., and we are open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our office is closed on Sundays and Statutory Holidays.
Adoption fees
Adoption fees for cats and dogs include spaying or neutering, vaccination and a one-year animal licence. All fees are subject to HST:
- $250 for a kitten (under one year)
- $150 for a cat
- $500 for a puppy (under one year)
- $309.74 for a dog
- $50 for all other animals
Choosing the right pet for your family
Adopting an animal is a long-term commitment. Before deciding to adopt, think about what you and your family are looking for in a pet. Every breed has unique characteristics and each individual pet is different. Here are some questions to consider with your household:
- Why do I want a pet?
- What characteristics do I want my pet to have?
- How much time will I need to spend caring for my pet?
- How much of my income can I spend on a pet?
- Am I willing to work patiently to train a pet?
The cost of owning a pet
Ensure you are prepared to take on these expenses when you submit an application to adopt a pet:
- Annual vaccinations, check-ups and veterinary care
- Obedience classes
- Flea control, deworming and grooming
- Boarding
- Food and treats
- Other supplies, including toys, beds and litter
Six reasons to adopt an adult cat

An adult cat's personality has already developed, so you'll know if he or she is a good fit for your family.
- Adult cats have longer attention spans which makes them easier to train than kittens.
- Adult cats are often already litter trained and are less likely to forget where the box is.
- Adult cats are often content to just relax in your company, unlike kittens, who may get into mischief.
- Adult cats often know that scratching posts (not furniture) are for scratching and toys (not hands or feet) are for biting.
- Adult cats are the hardest to find homes for, so when you adopt a mature cat, you're saving a life.
