Bryson Insurance chose to invest in Downtown Brooklin and has given back to the community ever since.
In 1991, Richard Bryson founded Bryson Insurance, a boutique insurance brokerage that provides clients with personalized insurance services. Today, Bryson Insurance continues to offer insurance solutions for their clients while building a positive workplace culture and giving back to the communities they serve.
Culture is important to us. Everyone contributes to our culture. Culture is related to how we make our clients feel, how we treat each other, and that we are each aligned with a purpose that drives us.
Kyle Paterson, Director of Culture and Business Development, 2022
The risk landscapes continue to change, which has allowed Bryson Insurance to be progressive and continue to offer solutions as proactive risk managers and insurance partners. This also includes risk advising with emerging issues like cyber risk and coverage changes to accommodate specific needs.
As Bryson Insurance began to grow, they moved into their first office to create a work environment that was welcoming and inclusive. With this goal in mind, they chose to locate in the Historic Village of Brooklin. The office location is ideal for commute time, community building, and attracting talent. Being able to work and play where the team lives is an important part of their values.
Bryson Insurance is by the community, for the community, and in the community. In May, they host their Annual Bryson Blooms event, which is a free and family-friendly fair with a petting zoo and live music. They bring together sponsors like the Optimist Club, Horticultural Society, and Windreach Farms. It is open to the community and serves as a symbol of appreciation and giving back. In 2022, this signature event drew over 300 people to Downtown Brooklin.
Bryson Insurance was also the first company to partner with the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region to create the Dementia-Friendly Business Program in Brooklin. The company created learning sessions in the form of webinars for other businesses to better alter their practices surrounding brain disorders. Bryson Insurance has even hosted a Dementia-Friendly Business Community Day, inviting individuals and their families affected by Dementia to discover business support in Brooklin.
With genuine care and passion, Bryson Insurance continues to maintain healthy community relationships by upholding their business values. They strive to create a better insurance experience for clients and a better work environment for staff by contributing to a better community.
