Oshawa Clinic Group breaks ground for new facility in Whitby
Residents across Durham Region, including in Whitby, will have better access to health care closer to home with the expansion of the Oshawa Clinic Group to Whitby in 2024.
Today, Friday, July 9, Associate Minister of Transportation Stan Cho, MPP Lorne Coe and Whitby Mayor Don Mitchell joined the clinic and other attendees in celebrating a significant milestone, breaking ground for the new state-of-the-art medical facility.
The four-storey, 154,000 square-foot Whitby Health Centre is being built at the southwest corner of Des Newman Boulevard and Bonacord Avenue in West Whitby – an area anticipated to be one of Durham Region’s fastest areas of growth over the next 11 years. The clinic’s central location will enable the 85 physicians (including both specialists and family physicians) who will provide care through the facility to better serve patients from across the region.
The clinic will be the largest private multidisciplinary medical group practice in Canada. Through the Whitby Health Centre, residents will have access to a wide range of non-acute healthcare services, including cardiology, physiotherapy, fertility, men’s health, audiology and psychology. The clinic will also feature a walk-in urgent care centre.

Being involved in this project that so many of us have long advocated for is an incredible experience. I’m very thankful to Ministers Caroline Mulroney, Kinga Surma, and Stan Cho, for their role in facilitating this pivotal development.”
