Applications Now Open for Whitby Advisory Board and Committee Volunteers

Make a difference in your community – apply online before November 28

Whitby, November 1, 2022 – With the new term of Council set to begin on November 15, 2022, the Town has launched its call for volunteers to sit on the advisory boards and committees that advise Council on matters of importance to the municipality.

More than 100 volunteers are needed to sit on 15 boards and committees that focus on diversity, active transportation, heritage, sustainability, accessibility, and more.

Interested residents or property owners (age 18 and older) can apply online for positions with up to three boards and committees at whitby.ca/advisorycommittees. The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022.

Quick Facts

No previous experience is required to volunteer – just a passion for, or expertise in, an aspect of the community that is impacted by your local government.
Town staff will review all submitted applications and present recommendations for the appointment of qualified candidates to the new term of Council.
Successful applicants will be notified and appointed to a four-year term by Council in January 2023.
