Whitby, May 4, 2022 – The next Whitby municipal election will take place on Monday, October 24, 2022. To support the election, the Town has launched its call for election workers, as nearly 300 people will be needed to support designated voting locations during the advance vote period between October 20 and 23 and on Election Day on October 24. Voting locations will be set up at local schools and community gathering places throughout the Town.
Starting today, interested residents can apply for positions and find more information – including position descriptions and duties, qualifications, work hours, training and pay rates – at whitby.ca/electionworkers. The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 29, at 11:59 p.m. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Interviews will take place in June.
Some of the important positions being hired for include Vote Tabulator Operator, Deputy Returning Officer, Poll Clerk, Revision Clerk and Greeters.
