Whitby, October 6, 2022 — The next Whitby municipal election is fast approaching and will take place on Monday, October 24, 2022. In preparation for the election, Voter Notification Cards are being mailed to Whitby electors. Residents are encouraged to watch their mail for their card to arrive during the week of October 10 to October 14.
Each individual eligible elector on the Voters’ List in Whitby will receive a Voter Notification Card, which identifies the voter’s ward and school support. The card also contains important information related to when and where to vote. If you do not receive your voter card in the mail by October 14 or any information on the card is incorrect, please visit whitby.ca/PlanYourVote to check or update your information, or contact the Office of the Town Clerk.
From October 20 to 24, eligible voters can vote anywhere, at any one of the designated Advance and Voting Day locations, regardless of where they live within the Town. Residents can find the voting location closest to their home using the online Plan Your Vote tool. Voters are requested to bring their Voter Notification Card and acceptable ID (that includes their name and address in the Town) with them to a designated voting location in order to cast their vote.
Eligible voters unable to cast their vote at a designated voting location between October 20 and 24 can apply to receive a special mail-in ballot. To receive a ballot, electors must submit the application for Special Mail-in Ballot available at whitby.ca/vote and submit it in-person to the Office of the Town Clerk, 575 Rossland Road East, by October 19, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.
A total of 43 candidates are running for office this fall. The complete list of registered candidates can be found here.
