Easter Long Weekend 2025 – What You Need to Know

With Easter approaching, here's a look at what Town Hall amenities and services are open or closed.

Holiday Service Changes

Town Hall and Garden Street Branch in-person and phone services will close at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

The Town’s recreational facilities and programming will be impacted as follows:

Brooklin Community Centre and Library (BCCL)	Open on Saturday, April 19 and Monday, April 21.	Closed on Friday, April 18 and Sunday, April 20.
Iroquois Park Sports Centre	Iroquois Park Sports Centre will be open Saturday, April 19, through Monday, April 21. The pool will be open for all drop-in programs on Saturday, April 19, Sunday, April 20 and Monday, April 21. There will be no registered swimming lessons all weekend.	Iroquois Sports Centre will be closed on Friday, April 18.
Luther Vipond Brooklin Memorial Arena		Closed from Friday, April 18, through Monday, April 21.
McKinney Centre	Open on Saturday, April 19, Sunday, April 20 and Monday, April 21.	Closed on Friday, April 18.
Whitby Civic Recreation Complex	Open on Saturday, April 19 through Monday, April 21. The Pool will be open for all drop-in programs on Saturday April 19, Sunday April 20 and Monday April 21. There will be no registered swimming lessons all weekend. Fitness classes are not running on the Saturday, Sunday, Monday of the Easter weekend.	Closed on Friday, April 18.
Whitby 55+ Recreation Centre		Closed from Friday, April 18 though Monday, April 21.
Whitby Marina	Open on Saturday, April 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.	Closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21.

Whitby Public Library

All Whitby Public Library locations (including the library at the BCCL) will be open on Saturday, April 19. They will be closed on Friday, April 18, Sunday, April 20, and Monday, April 21. Book returns remain open. Digital content is available 24/7 and digital content is always available at whitbylibrary.ca.

Waste Collection

There is no waste collection service on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21. Waste collection for Friday, April 18 and the week of April 21 to April 25 has been moved one day after your regular pick-up day.
