In the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship, Uchechi Ezurike-Bosse stands out as a guiding force, dedicated to helping individuals break barriers and thrive in their personal and professional lives. Her remarkable transition from a demanding corporate job to a successful business strategist, author, publisher, and mentor is a testament to her unwavering commitment to empowering others to achieve their goals.
Uchechi's entrepreneurial adventure began within the confines of a corporate role, where the grind of long hours and commutes left little room for family or personal life. Fuelled by an innate entrepreneurial spirit, she, along with her sister, launched their first business—a wellness centre in Toronto. In the process, Uchechi noticed a crucial gap: practitioners lacked essential business expertise.
I noticed the practitioners, such as our massage therapists and yoga instructors, were working multiple jobs instead of focusing on their expertise and business growth. My mission became clear: I wanted to empower entrepreneurs.

Driven by this realization, Uchechi transitioned into life coaching, witnessing transformations and instilling confidence in her clients. However, the allure of the business world persisted. After making the move from Toronto to Whitby, she and her sister sold the wellness centre and Uchechi ventured into a new entrepreneurial venture - My Empowered Living.
My Empowered Living initially began as a business coaching practice, offering private coaching and online courses to help budding entrepreneurs kickstart their dream businesses. A few years into the business, Uchechi introduced the Dream Life Designer Planners—a game-changer described as “the ultimate planner that acts as your own personal and accountability coach.” The planners quickly gained popularity, propelling the growth of My Empowered Living.
In 2016, Uchechi authored her book, "From Aspiration to Fulfillment: Bridging the Gap from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be," gaining insights into the publishing industry, which subsequently became an integral part of My Empowered Living.
Today, My Empowered Living is a beacon of empowerment, offering business and life coaching, online courses, planners, publishing, and more. Uchechi's focus remains on fostering personal and professional development, helping individuals realize their business aspirations, enhance their mindset, and achieve success. The journey from corporate to entrepreneurial heights showcases not just a personal success story but a commitment to empowering others in their pursuit of success.
For Uchechi, a significant motivation behind establishing My Empowered Living was to show those in the BIPOC community that they can indeed achieve success and build a thriving, sustainable business that aligns to the lifestyle they want to build for themselves and their families. In Canada, Black business owners make up only 2.1% of all business owners, with over two-thirds of this segment being men. Uchechi recognizes that entrepreneurship is deeply rooted in Black women, however, there exists a stark reality where Black women have encountered barriers and have been conditioned to believe that entrepreneurship may be beyond their reach:
I believe entrepreneurship is inherent in our essence. Black women have been shaped by an identity marked by hard work, struggle and surviving, a badge of honor we proudly wear. Yet, this mindset has been a hindrance for me, and I acknowledge its impact on other women in the BIPOC community. When I established My Empowered Living, my intention was clear—I wanted to support fellow women, especially Black women. I aimed to guide them in allowing themselves to embrace and assert their goals boldly; to accept and welcome the reality that they have the power to create impact, freedom, and wealth.

Uchechi has achieved remarkable success in championing women within the BIPOC community. Noteworthy accomplishments include collaborating with the Congress of Black Women of Canada (CBWC), where she provided various training sessions for Black women on essential topics such as cultivating a positive mental mindset, building wealth consciousness and establishing multiple income streams. Similar to this, Uchechi collaborated closely with the Black Business Professional Association (BBPA), guiding Rise Up Competition participants through training sessions to prepare them for the final pitch segment.
Further, Uchechi continues to proudly collaborate with the Nigerian Canadians for Culture Education and Economic Progress (NCCEEP) in a strategic capacity, serving as a partner and consultant to oversee a program that offered $5000 to empower Black youth initiating community-oriented projects. She also supports NCCEEP’s Sokoni program, which is part of the Black Entrepreneurship Program by providing coaching, mentorship, and training.
Beyond Uchechi's impactful endeavors within the BIPOC community, My Empowered Living has achieved significant milestones, garnering recognition on platforms such as Hay House Radio, Rogers TV, The Huffington Post, Mompreneur, and the award-winning MarieTV. Notably, Uchechi herself was honored by being named one of the "Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada 2020."
