As part of its commitment to local sustainability, the Town of Whitby is working to finalize a new Whitby Green Standard – a resource to help encourage and enhance sustainable new developments in the community.

Once launched, the standard will apply to both new residential and commercial builds. The tiered program identifies mandatory standards and will also identify voluntary ways developers can incorporate sustainability into design and construction projects.

Residents are invited to have their say on the Whitby Green Standard and the future of sustainable development in Whitby by participating in a brief online survey before Tuesday June 2.
