Share your feedback during Phase Two of community engagement on the Comprehensive Zoning By-law Review
Whitby’s Official Plan sets out land-use policy directions for the community’s long-term growth and development. As a next step to achieve the Plan’s vision, the Town is seeking community feedback as it reviews and updates Whitby's three current Zoning By-laws into one easy-to-read document.
A Zoning By-law dictates what properties can be used for, where buildings can be placed, how tall buildings can be and more. A single Zoning By-law will make it easier for residents, developers and others to find the zoning information they are looking for as our community continues to grow.
As the Zoning By-law will look at all properties in Whitby – including residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural – community engagement is an important part of this review.
This is the second phase of community engagement for this project and residents are invited to review the Strategic Direction and Issue Identification reports that resulted from feedback collected during Phase One. View and share your feedback on these materials through the following:
Feedback gathered during Phase Two of the project will help to inform the development of a draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law later this year.
The review will require extensive community and partner engagement throughout the study process, in accordance with the Planning Act and as directed by Council. Future community open houses will be hosted as the project progresses.
