This week, Mayor Don Mitchell and Whitby Town Council attended the Mobile Electric Vehicle Education Trailer (MEET) Whitby kick-off, where they test-drove electric cars. 

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Oshawa Power and Elexicon Energy partnered on the region-wide zero emission vehicle (ZEV) education and awareness initiative called E-Mission. It was partially funded by Natural Resources Canada.

As part of the Town’s commitment to sustainability, work will begin soon to install ten electric vehicle chargers at several Town facilities. The first phase will be complete by November 2021.
