The Town of Whitby’s Port Whitby Marina has been recognized by Boating Ontario as a leader in environmental practices.

The marina achieved Diamond Elite Certification under Ontario's Clean Marine Eco-Rating Program: an environmental program for Ontario-based marinas and marine businesses.

Port Whitby Marina received the certification after completing a 200-point assessment and achieving a score of over 96 per cent. The marina was recognized for its commitment to reduce pollution in recreational boating in categories including fueling, recycling, energy and water conservation.
