Whitby, January 24, 2022 – The Town of Whitby’s proposed 2022 Budget is now available online. This proposed budget reflects Council’s approved 2 per cent budget target increase. This reflects an estimated 0.7 per cent increase on the overall residential bill for Town services. This represents an increase of approximately 11 cents per day, per household for the delivery of important services residents rely on every day, like waste collection, snow clearing and parks maintenance. This budget focuses on maintaining affordability and continued essential service delivery.
The 2022 Budget Highlights publication, which features the Town’s key accomplishments in 2021 and top priorities for 2022, is also available online.
As an important part of the budget process, residents are reminded of the following upcoming opportunities to provide feedback virtually on the proposed budget:

What: Residents can go online and share their thoughts and feedback on the budget at any time that is convenient for them.
When: Monday, February 7, 2022, 7 p.m.

What: Residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed 2022 Budget prior to Council consideration and approval on Thursday, February 17. Residents interested in speaking at the Virtual Budget Public Meeting must register with the Town Clerk by 12 p.m. the day of the meeting (Monday, February 7).
