The Town of Whitby would like to remind candidates who ran in the Whitby municipal election that all election signage must be removed by midnight on Monday, October 31, 2022.
Under the Town’s Election Sign By-law, election signs need to be removed no later than seven days after the last voting day for the election. Starting on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the Town will begin removing any remaining signs and candidates may be charged for failing to remove election signs.
The Town encourages candidates and residents to use the Regional of Durham's Sign Recycling Program to recycle dedicated loads of corrugated plastic signs, free of charge. Signs may be dropped off at any of Durham’s waste management facilities, the complete list and additional information for which can be found at durham.ca/WMF.
