With Thanksgiving on Monday, October 11, here’s a look at what Town amenities and services are open or closed over the holiday period.

Holiday Service Changes

Town Hall and Garden Street Branch in-person and phone services will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 8 and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12.

Indoor Recreation Facilities

The Civic Recreation Complex Health Club will be closed on Sunday, October 10 and Monday, October 11. The Anne Ottenbrite Pool located at Iroquois Park Sports Centre and the Town’s arenas will also be closed on Monday, October 11. Once open, a reminder that residents can book a swim or workout up to five days in advance at whitby.ca/getactive.

Parks, Trails, and Outdoor Recreation Facilities

The Town’s parks, trails and many other outdoor recreation facilities are open. For a complete list of outdoor amenities available to enjoy this holiday, visit whitby.ca/Covid.

Whitby Public Library

All Whitby Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, October 11 and will reopen on Tuesday, October 12. Visit WhitbyLibrary.ca for access to digital content and program information 24/7.

Waste Collection

There is no waste collection service on Monday, October 11. Starting Monday, October 11 garbage and green bin collection has been moved forward one day after your regular pick up day. To confirm your collection pick up day, check the waste collection calendar or download the Whitby Waste Buddy app.
