Whitby, January 10, 2021 – As climate change continues, significant weather events are expected to become warmer, wetter and wilder – which could negatively impact the community.
To prepare for and help to prevent possible future impacts of climate change, the Town is creating a community-based Whitby Climate Change Master Plan, which has two phases:
The Town is currently seeking community feedback to help inform Phase One of the Plan. Here are two ways to get involved:
1) Visit Connect Whitby and complete the poll questions – check back often because these will change every two weeks throughout the next three months.
2) Join ‘I See Change’ to share your photos, stories, and data about how weather and climate change are affecting you
Feedback collected will help inform Phase One’s Whitby Climate Adaptation Plan. This will be brought to Council in June 2022. Stay tuned for additional engagement opportunities as we move to Phase Two.
