43 candidates to run in Whitby for Municipal and School Board offices

Whitby, August 23, 2022 — The next Whitby municipal election will take place on Monday, October 24, 2022. A total of 43 candidates have been certified and will have their name included on the ballot to run for office this fall. View the complete list of candidates here.

Elected by acclamation is Steve Lee as he was the only candidate for the office of Town Councillor, North Ward 1. Marcellin Kwilu Mondo was also elected by acclamation for the office of Conseiller(ere), Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir. 

During the advance vote from October 20 to October 23 and voting day on October 24, voters will elect eight Council Members to Whitby Town Council. This includes the Mayor and four Regional Councillors elected by all voters in the Town, and three Town Councillors elected by voters from Wards 2, 3 and 4, as shown on the map and noting the acclamation for the office of Town Councillor, North Ward 1. Voters may also cast a vote for Regional Chair and English Public, English Separate, and French Public school board trustees.
