Community invited to share feedback by May 19
Did we get it right, Whitby? That’s the question the Town is asking the community as it launches its second phase of engagement to help finalize Whitby’s new Community Strategic Plan.
From February 21 to March 12, more than 2,100 people participated in an online survey, sharing their feedback to inform the Plan’s Vision, Strategic Pillars, and Action Items. Whitby’s green spaces, location, and waterfront are what make the community unique, the survey showed. Participants also shared “safe”, “green”, and “affordable” as what they feel Whitby should aspire to be. View an infographic of the survey results here.
Based on this feedback, the Town has developed a draft Community Vision and Objectives for additional community input. The community is invited to have their say and share whether they think the proposed Vision and Objectives reflect their priorities.
There are a variety of ways to have your say on the Town’s proposed Vision and Objectives for the Community Strategic Plan:
Feedback collected will be used to finalize Whitby’s Community Strategic Plan to be presented to Council for final approval later this year.
Once complete, the Plan will provide a shared roadmap for how Town staff and Council will deliver on community priorities over the next four years, and beyond. The Plan will include measurable action items that the Town will report on annually to openly evaluate progress.
“Did we get it right, Whitby? That’s the important question I have for our community as we work to finalize the new Community Strategic Plan that will shape our Town’s future. I encourage everyone to get involved in this second phase of engagement and let us know if what we are proposing for the Plan reflects what you said matters most to you.”
