Whitby, Have Your Say on an Important Metrolinx Project

Metrolinx is seeking community engagement on the proposed design of a new rapid-transit bus route along Highway 2 (Dundas Street) through Whitby to connect Toronto (Ellesmere Road) and Oshawa.

This project will impact our residents and businesses. The Town encourages you to share your thoughts with Metrolinx and let them know what you want to see from this project.

For example, what do you think about closing a portion of Downtown Whitby to vehicular traffic to create a “Transit Mall”?

Metrolinx is hosting a public information session online for four weeks starting Monday, November 16, running to Friday, December 18, 2020.

Beginning Monday you can share your thoughts with Metrolinx on the proposed design through their website here.

What’s next?

Once this public information session closes in December, Metrolinx will review comments to fine-tune the design.

Metrolinx will then host stakeholder meetings and another public information session early next year, along with an environmental assessment.
