Rudy had to drive to Toronto to replenish everyday items like dish soap, which felt counterproductive.

The stylish eatery in Downtown Whitby has quickly gained popularity and is well-known for its contemporary décor, delicious eats, and friendly customer service.Despite its success, Owner Sarah Pascoal hadn’t always planned to open her own restaurant. Starting as a server at Whitby’s Baton Rouge, Sarah was able to learn the ins and outs of the restaurant business in her seven-year tenure.

Hire and Fire Your Kids (HFK), a Whitby-based technology start-up developed a gamified parenting app that helps parents raise their kids and prepare them for the “real world.” The app can be used to keep parents and kids accountable regarding hygiene, manners, and family values.
Kenesha Lewis - One More Cocoa
At the start of the pandemic, some people completed puzzles, others learned to bake bread; Kenesha Lewis, however, became a chocolatier and went on to open her own chocolate shop in Downtown Whitby: One More Cocoa. Inspired by an old Caribbean proverb, “One One Cocoa, Full Basket”, meaning one step at a time, One More Cocoa was born out of owner, Kenesha Lewis’ heritage, memories, and pure love of chocolate.
Nella Noakes - Unique Town Boutique
After suffering from a stroke in August of 2019, Nella Noakes quit her high-stress corporate job to focus on her health. Little did Nella know, less than a year later, she’d be opening her own retail shop, Unique Town Boutique. Since opening in 2020, over 70 makers have joined Unique Town Boutique, offering local, handmade products from soap to jewellery, to clothing, to hot sauces. The shop was recently remodelled to create more space, which has allowed for more makers and a better retail shopping experience.
