The Town of Whitby is committed to having meaningful discussions and reaching a fair and reasonable agreement with CUPE Local 53 Full-time to end the current strike.
Effective Wednesday, October 18 at 9 a.m. the Town will open a temporary waste drop-off location at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre parking lot (500 Victoria Street West). Enter via stop lights on Henry Street. Whitby residents and local businesses who usually receive curbside pickup can drop off garbage and green bin waste. A second waste drop-off location at the McKinney Centre parking lot (222 McKinney Drive) will open later this week, with timing to be confirmed. Continue to check whitby.ca/LabourDisruption for updates.
Additional drop-off sites will be considered based on community and operational needs.
